Theories Part 1

1. Theory of Specialization - one can give 100% subconscious attention to only one thing at one time (theory of subconscious prioritizing). This focus of attention is effortless and happens in phases which may last for a day, a week or even months.

2. Theory of Sequencing- the sequencing of specialization will usually not be same for any two people (especially friends). The sequence in which one experiences different dimensions of the same thing will influence his beliefs and values about it...   If one has a happy experience before having to face disappointments, he might be more optimistic about the whole situation. This can also lead to awe on one hand and lack for consideration for someone who has different set of beliefs because his experience has been different at that point of time.
Which is why when two people of exactly the same age and similar upbringing meet, they may still have a lot to share and learn from each other.

This brings us to the important aspects of maturity.
- which is the ability to know/foresee, by observing others, that experiences much different from the ones we have had so far, lie ahead of us.

- the ability to understand and know the sequence of events in another's life can give you more consideration (empathy) and maybe even mental peace.. so that you don't end up wondering "how could she!?" this will bring us to :-

Theory of Time Spacing of Relationships - there will be people you will feel comfortable in talking to once a month, some once a week, some twice a week and some everyday. How people get divided into these slots is more subconscious than intentional. Upon facing some setback, one might have to shift a certain someone from one slot to another...which causes some people intense sadness.
You do have such slots.. don't you?

  1. truly brilliant!
    i'm amazed and inspired....

my favorite is the theory of escape mechanism especially the fact that you have so clearly recognised the difference between escape mechanism and passions.

the conclusion of the plant theory was given in a doha i dont remember by kabir or rahim....
bada hua to kya hua, jaise ped khajoor,
panthi ko chaya nahi phal lage ati door!

  2. It is great to see how you have set down these principles and philosophies in such neat categories
Yes, they do make sense :D

thorough introspective findings richa! interesting read. must have worked and thought hard to arrive at these laws i guess.

    @saumya:
regarding the similarity in doha and plant theory point, i disagree. The message conveyed in that doha and theory here is quite opposite. in the doha the tall date tree is criticized for being no good to anyone, where as here in RPA's ( Richa's Plant Axioms !) trees are being called the most advanced and self actualized creatures with a capability to nurture others.

Theory of Specialization - one can give 100% subconscious attention to only one thing at one time

as per my observation/experiences it could be quite opposite. e.g. one can listen to a song casually (i.e. subconsciously ) and enjoy without being consciously bothered about details of what instruments are being played and what are the notes etc.... the moment i choose to focus attention(100%) on one particular detail ,it becomes conscious attention and not subconscious attention.
similarly, subconsciously we look at a beautiful scenery in totality and enjoy effortlessly... but when conscious steps in we tend to notice individual trees, peaks and so on.

sub conscious is far more powerful and inclusive than conscious i feel

  6. well i meant this statement in this format-
one can only give 100% attention to ONE thing at one time... lets says m1 asks you to simultaneously think of - what you would like to have fro breakfast tomorrow and think of the petronas tower at the same time.. that is not possible.. if u see what i mean..

  7. The statement "one can only give 100% attention to ONE thing at one time" is idiotically tautological i.e. very very self-evident! So any logical reasoning towards it is an obvious waste of effort. 100% attention at one time implies any another thing shouldn't get attention :)

and well, isn't quite impossible to think of petronas twin towers and breakfast menu simultaneously. this is how - I can imagine what I'd be ordering for breakfast when I'm sitting at a restaurant in Petronas towers ! Add to that - who I'd take along, what Music will be playing in background and last but not the least the name of the restaurant. 5 things in all... this whole 'atmosphere' can easily be imagined, and with 100% involvement. but that's the power of sub-conscious ... if u see what i mean :)

P.S. so the very first point of the theory - "one can give 100% subconscious attention to only one thing at one time" thereby stands disproved :)
